About
I always knew I was a bit quirky and very likely the worlds hardest person to pin down. Having an insatiable appetite for curiosity and a general love of humanity I saw the world and particularly the world of business as a series of questions that must be asked. This approach to life and work meant I either got fired or got promoted.
It said more about my choices and the culture of the companies that employed me than anything else. The companies who were blessed with an open mind promoted me. The others fired me! Not that I blame them as I suspect I would have fired anyone who poked around in things that were outside of the job remit.
My tinkering did tend to get results though. Increases in profits, increases in the number of leads and better optimised businesses and it wasn’t hard to spot or implement (provided you know what you are doing).
Pretty much all businesses can do better, they can increase profits without spending more, staff can get more involved and innovate. Small, medium and large businesses can all do better by combining the offline world with the online world… Often at a price which is ridiculously small.
My motto is simple;
Keep an open mind (there are so many business myths masquerading as the truth), treat your team, associates and partners as your best friends. Find a way to work with your competitors (you will both be thankful) and have fun (life is just better that way).
